Capturing Your Norfolk/Virginia Beach Wedding in Photos
Wedding clients are often surprised to learn that a photographer’s job really just begins after the ceremony. In the old film days, photographers would often do little more than drop their film off at the lab and hope for the best. Digital photography has completely changed the rules of the game by giving photographers the ability to completely control all aspects of the creative process, thereby creating a style that’s unmistakably their own – all through their skill at image enhancement.
Image editing should be much more than just modifying light levels or making minor adjustments to color. Skillful post production should breathe life into an image, create a mood, create art, and maybe even transport the viewer into an alternate reality. The photographer’s editing style is as important to the end product as the basic image capture, and it is absolutely critical in defining the photographer’s brand.
As you search for the right studio to capture your Norfolk, Virginia Beach or Newport News wedding, be sure to ask prospective photographers how they would process your images after the wedding. Do they ship the files off to a batch-processing company? Do they limit touch-ups to simple light and color corrections? Do their website galleries accurately reflect how they would approach your wedding from beginning to end, or are they simply a collection of “greatest hits?”
